JEFF SEKIDO, MA, AMFT
REGISTERED ASSOCIATE MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPIST (#161566)
SUPERVISED BY MICHAEL NALEPA, LMFT (#101240), EMPLOYED BY THERAPY UNSCRIPTED
Life does not always unfold the way we imagined. Career setbacks, workplace adversity, burnout, relationship challenges, identity questions, illness, grief, and major life transitions can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about what comes next.
As a therapist, I bring both clinical training and lived experience to this work. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent more than 30 years in high-pressure corporate environments. I am also a gay, biracial man, a cancer survivor, and a member of the leather and kink community. I understand firsthand what it can be like to navigate questions of identity, belonging, intimacy, confidence, and resilience while facing life's unexpected challenges.
I provide affirming psychotherapy services through Therapy UnScripted under licensed supervision for professionals, creatives, LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, teens, and adults throughout California. I frequently work with clients navigating workplace stress and burnout, relationship and dating concerns, LGBTQ+ identity, cancer survivorship, life transitions, intimacy, confidence, and questions of purpose and meaning.
Therapy is collaborative, strength-based, and tailored to your unique experiences and goals. Drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic insight, and relational approaches, our work focuses not only on symptom relief, but also on deeper self-understanding, emotional resilience, healthier relationships, and meaningful, lasting change.
Whether you are struggling with anxiety, feeling stuck in old patterns, recovering from a difficult life experience, or simply trying to build a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling, therapy can provide a space to slow down, gain clarity, and move forward with greater confidence and intention.
